How to get the most out of your blog posts

Blog posts are a great way to generate content to attract people to your website. Without research, your blog posts will just disappear into the rest of the noise online. However with a bit of research you can greatly enhance the results you get from creating blog posts.

When you are considering a blog post, think about the keywords you are trying to target. There are various tools you can use online to give you valuable data about potential keywords. There are tools such as Ubersuggest and Market Samurai which provide data such as search volume and competition–the number of times a keyword phrase is searched for and how easy it will be to rank for a specific keyword phrase. With this information you can tailor your copy to target these keywords so that your blog posts will always appear high in the search results.

At the very least you should set your title according to the keywords that show the most potential. To give extra weighting to your keywords, make sure that they appear in the first paragraph, are peppered throughout your post and are marked up with styling such as headings, links, bold and italic. Just make sure that it is natural. You can also make use of synonyms because these will also give you extra points.

You can use a similar approach on product pages, sales pages and landing pages. If you are placing pay-per-click adverts then not only will this exercise raise your ranking in the organic search results but it will also improve your ranking in paid search results while at the same time reducing your cost due to your quality score.
